Built by someone who cared enough to try
Hi, I'm Nishchay, an indie developer based in India. I built Fence because I got tired of handing my financial data to apps that treat it as a product. There are no investors here, no growth targets, and no reason to ever monetize your data.
I believe your spending data is the most personal data you have. More revealing than your messages, your photos, or your search history. It deserves to stay on your device, and that's exactly what Fence does.
Why I built Fence
Every expense tracker I tried wanted the same thing: access to my email. They'd scan thousands of messages looking for a handful of bank statements, upload everything to their servers, and then pitch me "insights" based on data I never agreed to share.
I kept thinking, my iPhone is powerful enough to parse a bank SMS. Why does my data need to leave my phone? So I built an app where it doesn't.
Fence is the expense tracker I wanted to use. No servers, no accounts, no internet required. Just an app that runs on your phone and minds its own business.
What I believe
Privacy by architecture
Not by policy, not by promise, but by the fact that there's no server to send your data to.
One developer, one mission
No board to appease, no investors to satisfy. Just a commitment to building something honest.
Indie means accountable
When one person builds the app, there's no one to hide behind. My reputation is the product.
